ANALYSIS FOR THE FOOD BUSINESS

TRIKIN

SunnLab carry out trikin analysis of horse and pig on commission of Mattilsynet. Bear and pig should also be controlled for trikins. It is very important that home butchered meat is undertaken control.

Trikin, Trichinella spiralis, is a roundwork that lives in the muscles. If human beings eats infected meat they can be infected with the decease Trikinose, which in worst case can be deadly. Efficient treatment exists if the infection is detected at an early stage. Because of this it is mandatory with trikin tests on all meat from horse or pig in Norway.

By sending a sample from a piece of the muscle to SunnLab, you can have this analysed for trikins, and this way be sure that the food is safe.
